I hate being sick. For the past couple of days, all I have been consuming are apple juice, water, and veggies. This really sucks, especially when I was at my company's Christmas party last Friday. I mean, they had all this food and I only had a small portion - imagine that! I could have helped myself to some dessert, but NOOOOOO, I was sick.

Did I ever mention that I'm going to Montreal for four days? I went once two summers ago, but now I actually get to experience Montreal in the winter. Not that I especially like the snow, but it would be a whole different experience in the winter! Just imagine the amount of people there will be on the streets, and in the shopping malls!

Three more days to go.. and counting..

Now I'm officially sick. My stomach is turning upside down and then sideways.. not good. Maybe I have food poisoning, maybe I ate something that I wasn't supposed to. This really sucks, considering how close it is to Christmas and all. I don't want to be sick during Christmas - which always happens to be the case. I either get some form of cold/flu/sickness around festive times..

Oh well, my life is full of irony :)

Feeling sick today :( must be something I ate yesterday because my stomach doesn't feel too well. I don't feel like eating either.. bleh.. could it be the black pepper chicken I had last night? Hmm..

I wrote my Economics exam on Monday night - let's just say that it wasn't exactly the best examiniation experience I have had. Oh well, at least it's over and I can continue to procrastinate.

I am the laziest blogger ever. Haven't blogged just because I'm busy.. what kind of excuse is that?

Anyhow, I have an Economics exam tomorrow at 7pm. So I should be studying, but of course, this is the perfect time for me the blog. I just love procrastinating.. :)

I got to work today, feeling like a goldfish that hasn't slept in two weeks. Okay, maybe I don't feel like a goldfish. I stayed up until 3am this morning helping my girlfriend with her presentation. So I admit, I have *some* artistic talent for making things look 'pretty', as girls would like to say. In my eyes, I think it just looks 'right'. I think my perfectionist qualities is the major reason for that - not to say that it is necessarily a good thing to be a perfectionist. I'm damn proud of being one though.

Anyway, so she rehersed the presentation at my place a few times. Normally I could stay up for hours - heck, during school I pull all nighters! The fact that I'm sick (physically!), and that I haven't really slept in a week didn't help the process much. So this morning I almost fell asleep driving to work, and as soon as I got to work, I had to hit the coffee machine. Three cups today and counting...

This is way too funny. Check this out.. especially if you go to University of Waterloo.

Today I got an e-mail from Ian about his own servicing interrupts, and here is his list :

5 (unmaskable) -- girls
4 -- sleep
3 -- alcohol & gaming
2 -- other bodily needs
1 -- work & school

For all of you non-geeks out there, the highest the interrupt, the higher the priority. Basically once an interrupt is 'raised', any lower priority interrupts will have to wait until the higher one is finished serviced. If during that time a higher interrupt is raised, the CPU will drop what it is currently doing and service the higher interrupt.

*sigh* I feel like such a geek.

My computer broke down four days ago, and I still haven't had the time to fix it. I installed some new video card driver, which in turn corrupted my keyboard and mouse drivers (don't ask me why). So when I booted into Windows, I had 640x480, 16 colours, no keyboard or mouse. Great, I can't even uninstall my drivers because I can't control my computer! It took me four hours to figure out how to use the stupid recovery console, and enabled my PCAnywhere service so I can remotely control my computer (using PCAnywhere Express, mind you, since my other computer can't even handle the PCAnywhere client). Finally I fixed my keyboard and mouse, but I couldn't seem to uninstall the faulty video card driver. It must have corrupted other DLLs also (it's Windows, go figure). Reluctantly I backed everything up and formatted my drive. Perhaps now it's time for me to investigate running Linux.. damn Micro$oft.

For those of you that have absolutely no clue what I just talked about, all you need to know is that my computer broke and I'm not a happy camper.

It's been 13 days since my last entry. I guess that defeats the purpose of having a journal.. let's see what has happened to my life since then..

I coloured my hair! It's now golden brown, sorta. Everybody at work thinks it looks really cool on me, and it is very different. Of course, except for my girlfriend and my brother. They think it look stupid - but I'm not surprised. My brother never stops criticizing me on anything I do, whether it be my taste in music or my fashion sense. He will always find something wrong with it. Oh well, not that it matters much, because I'm just not as *cool* as he is. My girlfriend just generally disapproves my hair colour, thinking that it is too radical and not me. I actually think it suits me quite well!

What's up with the Christmas stuff in shopping mall already? Last week when I went to a nearby mall, I was so amazed to see all these Christmas things next to Halloween things. HELLO!? It's like two months away, but people have to start Christmas shopping already. As if I don't spend enough money during Christmas already, now they want me to spend even more money, EARLIER! I still remember the time when I worked at a kids clothing store, when they had the Christmas music on in November and I thought that was early..

I got back to Waterloo last night after spending the weekend in Toronto for my birthday, and I got at least a dozen ICQ messages saying "Happy Birthday!".. some were from 'friends' that I barely talk to now, and one was from some guy I talked to once online. It's kinda funny how everybody remembers your birthday - by looking at that stupid balloon icon next to your name on ICQ. What happened to those I-remembered-cuz-you-were-my-friend days? I can still recall most of my friends' birthdays.. but that memory is now deteriorating too. I should really learn to not rely so much on my computer to notify me of things like that.

But I had a blast while in Toronto! Two of my friends also had their birthdays this weekend (on the 28th), so a whole bunch of us went out to dinner together. After that we went out to Yuk Yuk's for some good ol' stand-up comedy. The show turned out to be much more disgusting than I ever remembered it to be, and the quality of comedians are definitely dropping! Where have all the good comedians gone? Oh yeah, and we got presents. Good presents too! I got the Cordless Freedom - yes, something that I've been wanting to buy for quite a while. My 'I-pump-iron-all-the-time' friend got a set of 20 lbs. dumbbells, and my 'I-want-to-learn-guitar' friend got a guitar from his girlfriend. So it was all good :)

Finally I have setup a blog space for myself. I have always wanted to start keeping a journal, and for this year's birthday I have decided to have a 'birthday resolution'. I know it's weird, because most people have resolutions for new years. To me, my birthday is much more monumental than all those public holidays. I mean, heck, I have been living on this planet for 21 years now - EXACTLY 21 years today!

Happy Birthday to me!

Now I'm off to have lunch :)
