I got to work today, feeling like a goldfish that hasn't slept in two weeks. Okay, maybe I don't feel like a goldfish. I stayed up until 3am this morning helping my girlfriend with her presentation. So I admit, I have *some* artistic talent for making things look 'pretty', as girls would like to say. In my eyes, I think it just looks 'right'. I think my perfectionist qualities is the major reason for that - not to say that it is necessarily a good thing to be a perfectionist. I'm damn proud of being one though.

Anyway, so she rehersed the presentation at my place a few times. Normally I could stay up for hours - heck, during school I pull all nighters! The fact that I'm sick (physically!), and that I haven't really slept in a week didn't help the process much. So this morning I almost fell asleep driving to work, and as soon as I got to work, I had to hit the coffee machine. Three cups today and counting...

Today I got an e-mail from Ian about his own servicing interrupts, and here is his list :

5 (unmaskable) -- girls
4 -- sleep
3 -- alcohol & gaming
2 -- other bodily needs
1 -- work & school

For all of you non-geeks out there, the highest the interrupt, the higher the priority. Basically once an interrupt is 'raised', any lower priority interrupts will have to wait until the higher one is finished serviced. If during that time a higher interrupt is raised, the CPU will drop what it is currently doing and service the higher interrupt.

*sigh* I feel like such a geek.

My computer broke down four days ago, and I still haven't had the time to fix it. I installed some new video card driver, which in turn corrupted my keyboard and mouse drivers (don't ask me why). So when I booted into Windows, I had 640x480, 16 colours, no keyboard or mouse. Great, I can't even uninstall my drivers because I can't control my computer! It took me four hours to figure out how to use the stupid recovery console, and enabled my PCAnywhere service so I can remotely control my computer (using PCAnywhere Express, mind you, since my other computer can't even handle the PCAnywhere client). Finally I fixed my keyboard and mouse, but I couldn't seem to uninstall the faulty video card driver. It must have corrupted other DLLs also (it's Windows, go figure). Reluctantly I backed everything up and formatted my drive. Perhaps now it's time for me to investigate running Linux.. damn Micro$oft.

For those of you that have absolutely no clue what I just talked about, all you need to know is that my computer broke and I'm not a happy camper.

It's been 13 days since my last entry. I guess that defeats the purpose of having a journal.. let's see what has happened to my life since then..

I coloured my hair! It's now golden brown, sorta. Everybody at work thinks it looks really cool on me, and it is very different. Of course, except for my girlfriend and my brother. They think it look stupid - but I'm not surprised. My brother never stops criticizing me on anything I do, whether it be my taste in music or my fashion sense. He will always find something wrong with it. Oh well, not that it matters much, because I'm just not as *cool* as he is. My girlfriend just generally disapproves my hair colour, thinking that it is too radical and not me. I actually think it suits me quite well!

What's up with the Christmas stuff in shopping mall already? Last week when I went to a nearby mall, I was so amazed to see all these Christmas things next to Halloween things. HELLO!? It's like two months away, but people have to start Christmas shopping already. As if I don't spend enough money during Christmas already, now they want me to spend even more money, EARLIER! I still remember the time when I worked at a kids clothing store, when they had the Christmas music on in November and I thought that was early..
